People love the French Quarter for many reasons.
For us, it is the jazz we both so love.
Yes, I can hear the music normally, what a blessing
the romance of the city
the horse driven carriage rides
foggy nights
romantic balconies
French architechure
French influence in general
the beignets and coffee at Cafe DuMonde
all the special memories hubby and I have made over the years
always our jazz club and Irish coffee
The balconies....
on our horse driven carriage ride from our trip in 2004, the January prior to Katrina.
closing the streets for parties....
Our favorite French Quarter food,
beignets and the coffee!
muffaletta
bread pudding with bourbon sauce
(this was actually room service at 2am after coming back from the jazz club)
We first were served this yummy dessert at our favorite restaurant,
The Gumbo Shop back in 2004
more music on the street
Always, always the music.....
My gratitudes ......
My cochlear implant giving me music in my life again after 13 years
hubby's knee surgery....he was hurting on this trip last year
gifted people blessing me with their talents
Please continue to join me this week as I continue to share our love of New Orleans.
From my heart to yours, may your day be blessed

Hi Lynn, When did you all visit Nawlins during Mardi Gras? I have so many great memories of that place. It was a fun time in our lives...
I love the food there also.. We had a favorite Po-Boy restaurant (hole in the wall) which we loved to go to --down near Magazine Street...
We never cared much for jazz --but LOVED the Dixieland and street music... One of my sons worked (when he was a teen) at one of the French Quarter restaurants.
We loved to go to the quarter --but we didn't go near that area during Mardi Gras day... Too many weirdos down there on that day!
BUT--overall, we loved living there and your photos brought back tons of memories.
Hugs,
Betsy
These pictures are wonderful! I think my favorite is the second one of the balcony with the jesters on it. Can't wait for more!
