Wildflowers and country roads

Hello Friend! Wildflowers and Country Roads is both a reality and a state of mind. I warmly invite you to join me on my journey. A journey of showcasing my vision: the beauty my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ has bestowed on the world I love.
My hope is that my photography will bless your day in a beautiful way.

A Year of Gratitude - A reflective heart - January 4, 2012

"We cannot do great things.....
only small things with GREAT LOVE".
 Mother Teresa

Today I am thankful that this scene was my backyard for 10 years.
I saw such beautiful sunrises on the lake.
Thank you Lord for those special mornings.

Other times, like today, I am simply thankful for small, simple pleasures:

The shared laughter with loving hubby
As we run errands, poke around our favorite places
Like the thrift store at the library where I found used books in excellent shape for $1 or less!
Both of us love, love, love books.

I even thank the Lord for what may seem like "silly" pleasures such as:
Being really cold here in FL so I could wear my purple mittens.
I love mittens and purple.

or the sweet, lovely gift of  just being in the home we love
lighting the fireplace, turning the tree lights on
(yes we still have our real tree up until Thursday)
and reading  in front of the fireplace together
with hot coffee and my chocolate/mint tea.

I want to see the sacredness in each day.
I try very hard to keep my heart reflective so that I hear His voice,
To see the beauty, even when it comes out of the ashes, the difficulties, the pain.
I squeeze every drop of gratitude out of my days
because life is such a gift isn't it?

How was your day?
I know some of you had snow and others it is very cold.
Hope you all stay snugly and warm and enjoy your gift
of each new day!

From my heart to yours, may your day be blessed. Lynn

Hi Lynn! It sure is cold here too. It got down to 21 degrees last night! I love the cold weather also and look forward to times when I can wear my winter scarves and gloves. I was so thankful this morning when I work up and saw all the sparkles of ice shining in the back meadow, thankful that even though I am not feeling the best physically today that I am in a position where I can rest and enjoy Barkley's golden head in my lap and hear Tony say "I love you" when he called earlier from work. It is a beautiful life. Have a lovely morning! Delisa :)

That must have been such a beautiful place to live!! We had a bit of cold weather the other week too, and I got to wear my mittens and hat and scarf on my morning walk. Now with this cold in my head, I am resting (I don't like the cold, but it is nice to rest and blog!).
