Wildflowers and country roads

Hello Friend! Wildflowers and Country Roads is both a reality and a state of mind. I warmly invite you to join me on my journey. A journey of showcasing my vision: the beauty my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ has bestowed on the world I love.
My hope is that my photography will bless your day in a beautiful way.

A Year of Gratitude - Let the joy begin. 1/12/12

Last evening I was reading "one thousand gifts" by Ann VosKamp.
If you would like to learn more about this book, this exceptional writer
please go HERE

No matter how much I believe I show gratitude to the Lord
every page of this book shows me how much further I need to go.
reading slowly, hearing Him.

Contemplative evening.
Then
Brand new day today.

Still had to find a place for all the cords for our village building
we put out for Christmas.
Loving hubby had them neatly bundled and waiting for me to put away.
Of course, he bundled them AFTER I had put all the other boxes away hehe
So they sat on the coffee table a few days because frankly
the entire job of boxing up and storing away was done.

This morning I walked by them several times
trying to ignore the quiet whisper of my heart
saying, "do it now".

This drawer held colorful ribbons.
Hmm they were easy to move somewhere else.
Wait, what is that at the bottom of the drawer?

Under the ribbons were acrylic teardrop tree ornaments
from three years ago that looked too small on the tree.
They have laid forgotten under the beautiful ribbons
until today.

Oh my!
OH my gosh!

My chippy shabby candelabra.
You see, it was going to buy the crystal drops to hang from it.
I LOVE crystals that catch the light.
Do you?

However, due to recent events in our budget,
crystals for my candelabra were not high on the list
just very high on my "heart wants" list.

Now you may or may not believe
the crystals (or acrylic tear drops)  per se are important enough for the Lord to
bother with.
That is ok.
Cause, I know HE is telling me in the way that would touch my heart
that HE is in control
that HE loves me
that as I walk closer and closer to Him
More of my life will be illuminated with His blessings.

You see this was what I was reading last night.
finding joy in the hard places of daily life
giving thanks for every moment because they come from HIM
(I was reading chapter 7)

Yes, I know acrylic is not crystal.
And yes, I just tied them with the cord from the ornaments
I will be making wire loops so they don't hang all the way down like this.
But just had to show you today's blessing.

"Each day comes bearing its own gifts.
Untie the ribbons".
Ruth Ann Schabacker

or in my case......remove the ribbons from the drawer.

I would love to know your thoughts.
Be blessed and count it all as blessings.

From my heart to yours, may your day be blessed. Lynn

With a thankful heart and a prayerful attitude, God will send us just the little things we need that mean so much at just the right time when we need it. Nothing escapes Him, nothing goes unnoticed.

Sometimes it's hard to find joy in life but then you come across a blog such as yours and everything seems to sparkle, just like the crystals! If an acrylic crystal is made right, it will sparkle in the sun just like a real crystal :o) Have a nice evening! hugs Jennifer

Love your acrylic teardrops... Glad you have found a place for them... They are so pretty and should be displayed all of the time.

The little teardrops would also look good on a tiny tree at Christmas. George and I have a tiny tree in our bedroom ---and we love it.

Tonight I am grateful for SNOW... We have from 1-2 inches and it's still coming down. SO pretty --and makes the world look fresh and clean.
Hugs,
Betsy

I love these surprises the Lord gives us--I think He enjoys us being creative since He is so creative! This is a glimpse of God's grace (Jan 14--on her list of things--you beat us to the punch , as they say)
