Good morning to you!
Yes, my little weekend break was lovely and cold, hehe
(for those of you who are new, I am a Yankee at heart who loves the cold)
I simply cannot give enough thanks to Ann VosKamp for her book
one thousand gifts
If you would like to know more about Ann and her book please
go HERE
In chapter 4 she describes the wonder of bubbles in the sink
which catch the sun rays.
She marks this down on her gratitude list of 1000 gifts.
I have always seen a type of beauty others pass by.
I knew it was a gift, even if others laughed and teased me.
Even so......Ann's book has taken me even deeper seeing gratitude in my life
His blessings to me.
right now, right where I am.....at home.
Can you see the color prisms in the bubble?
Can you believe such beauty, such wonder simply from filling the sink with dirty dishes?
My dishwasher has sat idle since we moved in.
Oh, it works, I just love standing on the sink, thanking Him for my blessings.
That was even before, I really looked at the bubbles catching the sun's rays.
In back of the sink, I have "family treasures" which can change daily on a whim.
The glass my older daughter made for all of us for her sister's baby shower.
You know the one....the one that Dr's told her with only one kidney she should not
have a second child......she did anyway and we are blessed by George Patrick the III!
The little bear was a love gift from hubby.
Mr little bear makes me smile every time I stand at the sink
The cross needs no explanation does it?
The dish just outside the picture to the right with hearts.....
mom and dad sent me flowers on Valentine's a long time ago.
They sat in the beautiful little container.
The glass dome in the drainer........
It covered two heart shaped cranberry scones loving hubby and I
shared on Saturday night in front of our fireplace.
See my plans dreamed, "New Orleans for 5 days".
the Lord said "No way", not now".
Loving hubby said.....
"come out in the cold with me on Saturday morning and go to the
ham fest in Tampa" (amateur radio flea markets)
we did!
It was cold, that kind of bone chilling through my jeans cold
for some reason I cannot get my cell phone pics to upload
but I do have pictures of me with my hood up, my purple mittens on!
For real!
I loved our morning together outside in the cold
then
we had a picnic in the car!
Polish sausage with onions on a bun and diet coke.
you know, that wonderful food one can get at fairs or ham fests!
Our very first picnic of the 2012
Can you see the color in my kitchen chandelier?
I know it is a bit difficult, but oh do try...
It will make you smile!
This hangs over the sink.
So there I was on Sunday, home not in New Orleans as I had dreamed for months
Simply looking at bubbles in my dishwater!
Or looking up to the colors caught in the chandelier drops.
I look up a lot in my life
cause
I am so grateful for my life JUST AS IT IS.
How can one women be so richly blessed?
"I know how to live when I am poor and I know how to live when I have plenty. I have
learned the secret of being happy at any time in everything that happens......"
Philippians 4: 12
I wish you a day of beautiful prisms shining on your precious life.
Today is a gift, unwrap the ribbons.
Do stop back tomorrow....
you get to see the cutest little "cue ball" as my dad called her, hehe
My daughter then and now
as she celebrates her precious 38th birthday!
See you then.

I love your bubble picture, and I see the rainbows in your chandelier! I also love the shadows in that picture. I think most of the best things in life are spontaneous and unplanned. But I don't see your bear! How am I missing him?
Hi Lynn! I love looking at crystal light rainbows too. Have you ever seen PollyAnna, the Disney version? There is a scene where Polly Anna is selling crystals from an old man's chandelier at the fair. They set up a booth and call them "Rainbow Makers". It is such a fun movie. It always makes me feel happy. I'm making a fried chicken dinner for Tony tonight and just put some baked beans in the oven. Boy are they starting to smell good!. It is clouding up and we expect rain later. I think it is going to be a real cozy evening. Have a lovely afternoon, and thank you for your dear, gracious words, they always bring me joy! Delisa :)
Hi Lynn, Seeing the "Rainbow Bubbles" is a perfect example of the beauty all around us which we just don't see very often... Life is all about the little things --and the key is to take time to LOOK....
Seeing the birds flitting back and forth to the bird feeders makes me so happy... I am grateful that I can feed the birds especially in winter when it is so cold outside.
Hugs,
Betsy
Hello Lynn, I had to stop by and make sure you were ok, I haven't had a visit from you in awhile. I am going to reread Ann's book this year, it is SO GOOD. Love your simple beautiful pleasures and thanksgiving. We have a huge snow storm hitting our area right now. I plan on posting a few snow pics soon.
Blessings,
Gayle from Behind the Gate
