Kites on the beach

Oh, I know that most of you are thinking Fall, pumpkins, sweaters, football.......
But here on the beautiful Gulf Coast of Florida,
it is still hot, sunny and bright......aka as summer, lol.

So we headed out to the beach the other day
to watch kites.

Nothing seems impossible when one watches a kite....
soar
        glide
                             start to plunge
but just before it hits the beach
                                           soars again!

How about you?  Do you love to watch kites fly?
Have you flown one lately?

I am joining Dayle for Simple Pleasures again today at:

Please stop by and see what other lovely simple pleasures everyone has shared.

From my heart to yours, may your day be blessed. Lynn

Yes, I love watching kites. These look like the large ones which drag you into the air and along for a bit double fun!

Lynn,
Last summer my family and I went out to the beach for some family photo fun and ended up flying kites with the two oldest grandchildren. It had been years since I felt the tug of a kite and string in my hands and it was wonderful. I had such fun helping my grandson and granddaughter learn to fly kites.

That photo is so good. There is something very freeing about watching kites. We have tried making them over the years with our children. We were not always successful. Mave

Your kite pictures are great, and I can see that these are special kites. We love kites, and have a lot that we like to fly with the girls. An Elmo one,- bird one, a fish one. There is a kite festival here every October, and we always try to go.

Enjoy the lovely balmy days while you still have them :-)
It's Spring here in Australia and we're just getting to enjoy outdoors a bit more now.
God bless you..Trish

I have flown simple kites on the shores of the Pacific Ocean, and enjoy watching kites flying over the sand and sea every time I am on the coast. It is amazing how such a simple pastime can give so much pleasure to the person flying the kite, and those watching the kite fly.

Beautiful kites against a Florida Blue Sky made a great photo. The leaves are changing here and that brought summer back to me.

Oh, I love to watch people fly kites on the beach! I used to live in Florida, too, and always loved to watch the kites soar above the waves.

Thanks for sharing!

Hi Lynn, lovely photos! I too enjoy watching kites. I don't see very many people flying kites here in my part of Georgia, perhaps it is difficult because of all the trees. You really do need a good wide open space. When I was growing up in California, we rarely missed going to the kite festival held every year at our local beach. The skies were filled with kites of every color and description. That is a happy memory I haven't thought about in years. I hope you have a wonderful afternoon! Delisa :)

Hi Lynn,
I love your pictures of all the kite. Over here in sunny southern California people are into Kite surfing. I think it looks terrifying but I have a few cousins that live for it ;-O. I hope you get some Autumn soon.

Want to hear something funny about kites? Well, I HATE wind with everything in me. Even more than snow and cold (which I detest!!!), I HATE wind. And since it's windy where I live about 350 days of the year, I'm constantly complaining. My son said to me one day, "Mom, but without wind you couldn't fly a kite." My response, "Who cares, I don't fly a kite!"

When we lived in Florida, we often went to the beach and flew kites. Well, hubby and kids did...I didn't. I usually just played in the sand.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Love,
Patti

Lynn, watching kites relaxes me--and that's just what I need right now. So thank you for this relaxing moment.
Enjoying the looking of your blog as well. The feminine and lacy lavender is so pretty.
Will write you later this week when things slow down.
Blessings,
Janis
