Terry was the gift I never expected, never looked for and had to send two fleeces out to the Lord before I truly knew Terry was His gift to me.
Terry is normal hearing. I became late deafened at 39, 6 years before I met Terry in church after one of the most heartbreaking periods of my life.
I was caught between two worlds, the hearing world I knew and loved and the deaf world of signing.
Terry had taken a signing class to date a Deaf women a year before he ever met me. He has the biggest, most open of anyone I know.
The church was starting a hearing/deaf group, so I went to the first start up meeting, very reluctantly. I was terrified as I did not fit anywhere, truly caught between two worlds.
Terry and I became friends, he taught me signing, we went out to dinner, fishing, talked for hours on the TDD at night and he was a special part of my life.
Love came in quietly, unexpectedly through a wonderful friendship. When it did, it took both of us by surprise and wonder and we knew He had given us both special gifts in each other.
I am so proud to call this man my husband. He is patient and kind and loving and 100% supportive and accepting of my strengths and weaknesses.
He is my best friend, lover, husband, soul mate. Thank you Lord!
I love you Terry! My own "shyit man".
Don't try to figure that one out, its our made up word, lol
